MANILA, September 26 — Philippine Vice President Sara Duterte has denied receiving money from a former security aide to ex-House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco, who claims he delivered more than ₱2 billion in cash to her.

“I do not know Rodulfo Gracioso Jr., nor have I ever received any money from him,” Duterte said in a statement posted on Facebook on Saturday.

Gracioso, a police corporal who says he served as Velasco’s head of security, alleges that he delivered suitcases of cash to Duterte on Velasco’s instructions. He claims the deliveries took place more than 20 times. He also alleges that he delivered money to former President Rodrigo Duterte and Davao City lawmaker Paolo Duterte.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is examining Gracioso’s claims. NBI Director Melvin Matibag said investigators had administered a polygraph test and checked some of Gracioso’s statements through other means. The alleged cash deliveries have not been established as fact.

Duterte said her lawyers were waiting for an official copy of Gracioso’s affidavit before preparing legal action against him. She called the allegations a media stunt aimed at reviving an impeachment case against her.

In the same statement, Duterte accused President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s administration of trying to bring her down. She also urged Marcos to take a public drug test and address questions surrounding a flood control scandal.
